MENtors is the initiative of John Mandile and Lisa Steward two ex managers of a disability employment service for people with mental illness. Both Lisa and John have a strong empathy for disadvantaged people and a commitment to social justice and community development. During their time at the disability service they realised that men were not being adequately supported in their social and relationship needs. Men needed mentoring and peer support to engage in the limited mens services available. In addition many men neglect their own personal health. This was the impetuous to set up the MENtors Project.

The MENtors is auspiced by the Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre which is a non profit community service organisation and part of their social inclusion programme.
